Our Story:

Meluzina was established in 2011 when our first two Siberians, Maple and Chase, joined our family. Soon after, we welcomed Sadie, and the trio enjoyed fun adventures like scooter rides and dry land racing. A few years later, we added Ringo and Emmylou after deciding to pursue dog conformation shows, for which we are immensely grateful to Sharon Osharow at Kristari Siberians for making our dream a reality. Around the same time, we also began to consider breeding. Our breeding philosophy emphasizes only pairing dogs that are perfect in every aspect. Both must achieve their AKC championship, pass health screenings, and possess great temperaments. We only breed when we intend to keep some of the offspring. In 2021, we welcomed our first litter from Ringo and Emmylou, and it was a wonderful experience bringing puppies into the world! Three of the six pups joined our pack.

Couple of years later, we had another litter puppies and again ended up with three of the offspring. Our husky pack grew fast, and so we decided to relocate from suburban New Jersey neighborhood to North Country - New York, to the wonderful snowy Tug Hill Region. Currently, Meluzina is home to 9 Siberian Huskies.

We sadly said goodbye to a few: Sadie in August 2022; Chase in april 2026, and Ringo in june 2026. Caring for our dogs and kennel is a family effort, and it's a joyful journey that we all cherish deeply.

Dogs have always been an integral part of my life From my earliest childhood memories, I've yearned for the companionship of a four-legged friend. The first dog I brought home was a mutt, whom I secretly kept from my parents. I joined a local kennel club and trained little dog, Ben, alongside German shepherds and Dobermans in a rigorous police training program known as Schutzhund. Later, I welcomed a German Shepherd named Brit into my life. I dove deeply into training, and it became my main focus during those formative years. Competing at various levels with Brit, I was one of the youngest participants. Raising dogs provided me an escape from my childhood struggles and allowed me to connect deeply with myself. When my son Mike expressed a desire for a dog, it reignited a within me. My childhood dream resurfaced, and I rediscovered the special bond with dogs. Cherished moments spent walking in nature, running together, bonding at competitions, and snuggling on the couch are filled with love and understanding. Each new puppy teaches me something new about dogs and about myself. I cherish every moment I spend with my dogs. .......Jitka
